That's mean FORE is the best in ATM<< Siemens is a solid German electronics company, because they chose a certain vendor does not make that vendor the best in their field, please...btw I do believe Fore is a great mid-tier networker and a prime candidate for takeover which means a good investment imo.

So your saying FORE is the best because Siemens chose them? This statement is ludicrous. Why didn't Siemens choose their own Siemens/Newbridge switch? Probably because the hospital chose the HW, is my guess. The ability to handle this type of real-time traffic proves that FORE's ATM is way ahead of ASND, CSCO and others. Hardly. This application likely employs a provisioning of VBR/rt traffic flow, which is pretty standard on all second generation switches; from FORE, NN, ASND, CSCO, etc. Sounds to me me like this is a LAN oriented application. Right up FORE's alley. But not quite enough for your declaration of world ATM dominance, now is it. IMO, FORE ASX4000 beats the hell out of the old csco BPXs and asnd 500s. Well your opinion is wrong. ASND 500 kicks the ASX4000's butt; when it comes to multiservice ATM, that is. So lets not compares apples and oranges. The ASX4000 is a competitor of ASND's 550 switch. So far, the marketplace would disagree with your assessment.

Jach, let's make a couple of things clear. First: charts.techstocks.com Second, you say FORE is a leader in ATM. FORE's annual Revenue $528M CSCO's annual Revenue $8.5B FORE's Market CAP: $1.6B CSCO's Market CAP: $90B ish FORE's ROE: -30% CSCO's ROE: 25% FORE's ROI: -26% CSCO's ROI: 19+% % of outstanding FORE shares short: 3.7% % of outstanding CSCO shares short: 1.7% FORE Net Profit Margin: 8% CSCO Net Profit Margin: 16% Look at these numbers!.. these companies are in completely different legues. To mention them in the same breath is a dis-service to CSCO and gives FORE more credence than it deserves. Cisco's quarterly revenue is 4 times greater than an entire year of FORE's. Given Cisco's quarterly revenue it's more than likely that they do more ATM business in one quarter than FORE does all year long. You're lost in technology Jach...even if half of what you say is accurate...the truth is FORE is FOREgotten. They are not even in the same legue as CSCO, never will be. Even the guys at LU, ASND, COMS, MSFT, GTE, FON, T, etc. etc.. all know that. (I should point out that Siemens uses CSCO backbone ATM switches..FORE is being used as a campus device.) Seems to me the only guy that hasn't figured this out yet is you. Jach, you toss out technology pointers - technology that companies like CSCO, ASND, and NN have had in their products for months if not years. So, OK...you work for FORE, we understand your coporate spirit, but don't be blinded. FORE is nothing but an also-ran. They'll get bought and they'll be even be more FOREgotten than they already are...so FOREget it. Cisco is to FOREmidable and if FORE thinks they can make a go against CSCO and ASND on thier own they will soon be FOREclosing on you and your friend at FORE. OG
