Call it a false perception if you want, but here are the facts on
Bob's two favorite large cap semi capex stocks:

Novellus has rallied from 21 to 39 in 3 weeks close to 90%

Teradyne has rallied from 15 to 32 in 3 weeks over 100%.

These stocks were frequently mentioned as dollar cost average
opportunities when they were being thrown out the window
weeks ago by misinformed investors. Brinker has talked openly
about investing in these stocks and they have had explosive moves
in very short order, the kinds of moves you rarely see anywhere.

Tom: "I think you take this too personally."

No, you are incorrect. Shorting UTEK at this point is one least attractive ideas I can think of out there in the market. The only thing that took UTEK down to the $13 range was a huge correction in the overall market. Even though the shorts would like to take credit this last leg down in UTEK, the fact is you had to have predicted a market mini-melt in order to take credit for your brilliance in covering at $13 if you covered at all. Not one UTEK bear was predicting that event and so all they can take credit for is dumb luck which can be a good thing in the market. Since the company announced terrible earnings, it has done nothing either way. So, I think the best possible outcome for the shorts would be to cover at $14 in the future in the event of another mini-melt (you have to be bearish on the market) or if the industry fundamentals catch up with UTEK as you state before the industry turn is discounted. Notice my choice of words. The industry does not have to recover before the stock turns because it is discounted in the future. See the run in the big caps for further information. So shorting UTEK at this point gives you a small return considering the risks you are assuming. For example, you might want to check the dd news which is quite positive. You might also want to consider that you are at the whim of the big boys who are shorting this one big time. If they cover, you will be eating their dirt. But good luck with your short on this one. You may make some spare change.
