Tim, a system that works for you, may not work for another.

I fell victim to the same thing but turned it around early. ONLY becasue of this and other threads. There is great experience out there in people like you and others to learn from, and it has helped me a ton. A friend of mine the other day asked me about getting into day trading for a living. He is a very smart guy, made some wonderful investments in the market over the last 10 or so years and by any standards out there, he is a very savvy investor. But, I told him just this morning that no matter how many magazines he reads or how many financial papers or how many brokers he talks to...daytrading for a living is tough and he has more to learn than he can even begin to imagine. Hell, I spend 4 hours a night working on this stuff to prepare for the following day! One last thing...Another great point you made about hitting a home run with every trade. My point is that with what I have in the market, 3% a week is more than adequate for me. Sure I want to do much better, and work hard finding the right companies that provide the best potential. But patience is the name of the game, and trading towards that home run will kill you. The home runs will take care of themselves.
