AMZN - in the reds?

The more I look AMZN, the more find out that:

AMZN is no DELL:
Dell makes some profits and operational cash earnings, and passes it to the market by frequently buying own shares and splitting frequently.
I like this sort of business model and it seems that Dell can carry on with that model an indefinite but long time, as long the main Dell business delivers some healthy profits.

AMZN does not improve the bottom line:
Despite AMZN claims that a reasonable amount of direct costs is of one-time character due to acquisitions and writeoffs, an investor has to believe them. I think, as long as the operating result does not improve in that the sequential growth of costs diminishes, there is no proof that they will reach profitability ever.

And as for the hot air argument, where is the ultimate proof that AMZN business and the whole turnover is for real.
My mates in the co. I work also buy books at amazon and finally, after 6 weeks, real books are delivered. But this can be achieved by barnesandnoble, too? Or by local book retailers, when the clients realize that amazon prices are everything but cheap.

I consider cashing out amzn by writing short boxes as volatility offers incredible time value. Shorting AMZN via puts or calls? AMZN went from the 80s to over 120 now. So, its like gambling or growing tulips.
