IF you are doing that good why are you asking them questions???
I was a Block Daytrader and 95% are losers including me. The place is closed now (Boston office). It takes a lot of Johnson to admit being a loser. You are full of it we don't need Bull s/#%#^er here. If I was making the money you say you are I would not waste my time on here. Most of the people here are not Daytraders. Go to the Day traders thread they have one here on S.I. The thread has not been active lately. Probably because they lost all their money. Joe the loser.

Arthur,
RE:
trade my entire 12000 shares in and out. ...
and
....just turned 60 this month;

If you have 12,000 shares of DELL (even if they are margined) hold them 1 year. How much money do you need? I can only guess what your $780,000 worth of DELL will be in 1 year. If you just hold the shares instead of trading, you will have a LOT more free time to see the world, visit relatives and volunteer your time at schools, homeless shelters and such. You can even become an emisary for DELL investing.
By next year you could have over 1.4 Million. Beyond that it gets just plain silly.
Why are you wasting your life infront of a computer anymore.

I can understand the need when you only had 100K. but your situation has changed.

My grand father hit the beginning of his Alzheimers at 67. Don't wait too long to start enjoying the fruits of your previous labor.

With respect,
Craig Lieberman

Arthur - *Off Topic*

Check out the traders thread, there is a gentleman by the name of Steve Goldman that you might want to talk with. He is trader.

techstocks.com

Also, if you elect to stay with Schwab they have a special group that you can do larger trades through, check them out if you haven't already. Finally, if you don't daytrade, you can also save some bucks on real time quotes via the Internet. I'm guessing you use a service such as Signal. For around 80 bucks a month you can get Interquote (www.interquote.com), DBC, or PCQUOTE. Best of luck to you.

Regards,
John

PS - Firms other than Schwab will also give you a better deal on commissions, Schwab charges 3 cents/share on trades over 5k shares, others will do it for 2 cents/share or less. However, doing block trades with an internet only firm may not necessarily be the most cost effective way to go, as you say execution is important. There is poster on the CPQ thread that I have known for some time. He lives abroad and does block trades through Schwab also. Posts under the moniker of Vepoc - you might want to send him a message in regard to this.

Hi Arthur. I know this is not exactly what you asked for but try looking at the DELL TA thread as it might be useful for the day position trading that you do.
