Thanks Brady - I promise not to eat the messenger. :)

OK - now I'm confused. I've visited the MovieWeb page you referenced, and I see the ad is referencing ads.softbank.net. But I thought that ads.softbank.net disappeared off the face of the earth a couple of months ago. I had assumed that Zulu had their own adserver now, under their own domain name. Certainly, though, it would not be good if Zulu wasn't able to obtain the cooperation of Softbank to allow that address to continue to work.

My assumption was that any ads still with ads.softbank.net addresses were old ads, and that either Zulu hadn't done a very good job of contacting sites and getting them to change the URLs, or that these were sites whose contracts had actually expired, but didn't bother to change the ads.

Am I wrong about Zulu having their own ad server now?

BTW, a tracert to ads.softbank.net leads to GlobalCenter, a large web-hosting operation that used to host SI. Perhaps a phone call or e-mail to GlobalCenter will shed some light on the subject.

OK - I finally found a "Zulumedia Ad Network" ad. It points to ads.softbank.net, just like the old "Softbank Ad Network" ads:

movieguide.net

I guess they are doing a favor for webmasters - I've heared that the biggest mistake made in web-page layout is "not enough whitespace". :)

Brady,

Help me understand! When I look at the ad at that location, it shows both DoubleClick and Softbank - does that mean they share the space?

Now I am really confused. When I checked the first link (above) my statement above was not true. There is double click ad on the right hand side.

Then I copied the second one and tried again and it is true there. There is a DoubleClick/Softbank Ad at the top.

The difference is that the one that shows "Softbank Ad" as search criteria, show the one at the top!
