Mike,

I don't have a good answer, but I don't think it's the Internet, per se. While I have been following Safeguard, I have noticed that it acts like a leveraged investment, so that when the small-cap market is going down, it goes down faster, and when the market is buoyant, it goes up faster and higher. The small-cap market has some "exuberance" right now, but if that cracks - even just a bit - I would expect SFE to slide dramatically.

Also, CMPC has been great for anyone who bought the "coffee options" but I personally don't see the long-term viability of that company. (Just like there will be Amazon.com and perhaps B&N.com, there will be Dell, and Compaq, perhaps IBM, but will CMPC be competing successfully with $599 PCs?)

Anyway, good luck to all,

--John
