Marty, I upgraded from Navigator 3 to Communicator 4.05 and addresses as well as bookmarks were kept intact automatically. I would still save both files elsewhere before upgrading, though. I do NOT have experience with the latest Communicator, v 4.5 I think. G.

Martin, Don't know from 3.0 to 4.5. I've upgraded from a couple of levels and not had a problem. Bookmarks, mail, etc., were not lost. Since going to 4.5 only two crashes so far as compared to one or two a day with previous editions. Seems faster also. steve

The suggestion to make multiple copies of non-critical data files to fill your hard drive may work. It was suggested to use BIG files for speed, but I'd recommend using SMALL files. It will take many small files to do the same work; thus, your directories will be overwritten as well as the data areas. One catch though, if the files are not sized to fit the blocks on your drive, the disk may contain old data after the <end-of-file> marker is encountered. Maybe it's easier to create a file of junk 127 bytes long and use it. Do this in a .BAT file and let it run for a few loops. Hope this helps, PW.
