Steve, when I installed Communicator 4.05 a few months ago I didn't delete Navigator 3.x so was able to use either after the installation. It bears noting that Communicator is the bundle having an e-mail program. Netscape also has a standalone browser without e-mail. Gottfried

Martin, I went and looked at the smart update for Netscape and looks like you have to have a version 4.x in order to use that function. "Fast Update for 4.0 Users If you're using Communicator or Navigator 4.02 or higher, use SmartUpdate to get the new 4.5 features." "Full Download of Communicator 4.5 If you're using another browser, choose either the Windows 95/98/NT(linked) or Mac PowerPC(linked) version of Communicator."
