Dan , I think a combination of things is the reason for runup Since Sept there has been news of AMD's market share overtaking Intel in the retail stores . The large increase in production of .25 K6 from 1M to 3.8M and a return to profitability . New customers i.e. Sony and NEC/PBell .The favourable review of K7 design . These were factors that resulted in a pent up reason for the stock to move much higher . Then came a recovery in the SOX index and finally the news of Atiq Raza not only being promoted to COO but also at the next AGM to be CEO. That last item was the catalyst and I believe the large block purchases recently 2x 500K today are funds , possibly the California public employees pension fund , buying . Last spring if you recall Calpers made an attempt to remove Jerry from occupying both Chairman and CEO positions , with this news they are probably buying back in . Brian
