Alan, you potentially get meltdown - thats why many believe that we are living on an edge that is just about being managed. The question remains is, is time just being bought or are we heading for a crash.

You pose some interesting questions...

There appears to be something that AG is aware of that we aren't... But there was some discussion of new bond issues drying up... If companies cannot readily access the capital markets we could get economic contraction... Add to this the derivative mistakes that amount to billions of dollars... Also, there was fear of cascading financial failures... The market exuberance still exists... The FED chose the lesser of two evils by propping up the financial systems while the equity markets increase their current P/E's... The hope is that these rate cuts will give earnings growth a kick...
