So it's like the comparison of a Credit Card
vs. a Debit Card.

The Debit card accesses an account with
funds that are already on deposit (prepaid).

A Credit Card lets you borrow (up to your credit limit)
funds which you will repay later when you are billed --
or delay full payment by making only a minimum monthly
amount, thus carrying a credit balance forward.
The APR on such a credit balance is typically
1.5 % per month, which works out to nearly 20% a year.
