Banshee board listed on the spec sheet is positive proof that Compaq will offer the Banshee board (in addition to the Diamond V2). The big question is how - the current 5600 line (450mhz) lists:

1. the 8MB ATI 3D RagePro LT as default
2. a 4MB ATI 3D RagePro LT for $29 less
3. a Diamond Viper 550 (TNT) w/16MB VDRAM for $50 more

So where does Banshee fit in? In terms of price, at about the same price as the default option based on the TNT add on cost of $50. It would be nice if they made it the default, and I have to imagine that they will on the higher end models versus the ATI on the low end. TNT will continue to be a $50 upgrade. Banshee seems to have a nice potential niche at Compaq. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Joe C.
