Hello Scotty: I enjoyed reading through the thread. In response to your question regarding a platinum play, I suggest the following: SWC - Stillwater Mining Per Yahoo - Stillwater is the only U.S. producer of platinum and palladium, and the only significant source of platinum-group metals outside of South Africa. For the nine months ended 9/30/98, revenues rose 38% to $76.2 million. Net income totalled $7.8 million vs. a loss of $4.5 million. Results reflect higher volumes, the absence of hedging losses in the prior period related to unfavorable results on forward contracts and higher margins due to new efficiencies and upgrades at the Stillwater Mine. Note: I don't own SWC at the moment. There is a discussion thread on SWC for anyone who is interested. Take care...Topper.
