I think you are right. I like Dreyfus. Here's why:

1) Flat rate of $17.50 for almost as many option contracts you want to do.

2) Easy to read option chains.

3) Large brokerage firm to help lessen chance for bankruptcy.

********************
You know I really ought add a cautionary note to all of this. You can lose your ass with a punch of a button with options. Here's an example:

1) I held calls on msft.
2) I decided to cash them in so I punched the button to do so.
3) It did not seem to take so I punched it again.
4) You know what's coming - it registered twice.
5) The next morning I woke up and found I had sold naked calls and they wanted to know where my $45,000 was. As luck would have it, it did not spike in the am and I only lost $2,000 (which I had just made selling calls).
6) If I had walked away from the computer for a few days or a week, I would be out tens of thousands.

Moral of story: This is a game to learn slowly with a small bet and a lot of attention. You can lose everything fast.
