Well I didn't start from Bollinger bands I just noticed that they often seemed to say the same thing and they are easier to visualize and put points across to soem other people (not you obviously). The first difference of the stock price series I've looked at isn't just totally white noise like the coin series. I guess I should experiment with that kind of data too as a kind of Monte Carlo experiment. What kind of predictive power does looking at the chart of EWA shifted by 1 year and 20 days have? If you look at the Jan 1988 chart we just topped out and next week will be down. David
