Gilder says "networking business is going optical and the network access business is going to cable modems and wireless". What do you think? If this is true, who is going to benefit the most? Am I correct that Cisco has no significant presence in optical networking, cable modems and wireless?

3Com is a fine company and its Palm OS, now on digital cellphones, may turn out to
have more users than Windows by 2003. But the networking business is going optical
and the network access business is going to cable modems and wireless. Can anyone
give me guidance here?
