I do probably most of my trading now within the first 45 minutes of the session and in the last hour or so. For daytrades obviously I play those through the day. One thing that Tim has said often is very true and that is trading stocks you know. You can make good money on those intraday. I went through the same things you mentioned as well...as with everything in life, you cannot succeed until you fail.

That 10:30 turn was working good up until about 60 days ago. That turn was working both ways, down after up and up after down. The turns have been working lately at 11:00 instead of 10:30, and last week there were some that happened between 11 and 1 which is really unusual. If the bull market starts up again, that 10:30 turn may start working again. If you are buying on the dips on an up move or selling on the rallies on a down move, watch for that turn for a reversal in the overall trend; in other words, if you buy on a dip on an uptrending stock between 10:30 and noon, you may have greater risk than at some other point in the day.
