Where is the Great Carnac'ian and his STB with that 12.6 Gig hard drive?? We've got a new chip for that sucker...

You know I was thinking, if they really want to screw with the DVD copyright thing, create a MP-3 type stream for crisp, clear video on the net. But don't sell it as so...just provide the bullets???????

Let's see this one costed a few Million..., cash/Divi burn rate still on low and the tank is very full. I'll take back the "hind tit" comment if the COMDEX device is worthy of doing big numbers, ie firm firm deals with big names,... not this hit or miss crap we've been seeing with second rate CE players. Lasting impressions are hard to sway...and if Alex starts ranting about it in some PR or interview then we'll know it's just like that "Compaq, DELL" deal or "Corporate Wide Commitment at Toshiba".

(BILLYG gets the find of the week!!)

I've always said, until it replaces the VCR, DVD will have a hard time taking off for real. Too much ingrained competition, and not enough incentive to change over to the new standard. DVD RAM will change all of that, especially when it gets to be consumer friendly (inexpensive to buy the machines and the discs get enough storage to compete with VHS tapes on cost and duration).

We may not know what booth CUBE will be in at COMDEX, but they have a booth all set for the CES in early Jan..

I can see why SONY would be asked to give a keynote, but John Chambers? Why would CSCO be interested in CE?

Anyone planning to go? I have vacation that week, but I already have other plans... otherwise I'd be tempted. Haven't been to Vegas in a while.
