<<Why did they need all this cash in the first place?>> George, I think they never expected to see the stock price at these levels, and that the money initially WAS for acquisition purposes. But this decline in GM due to intense price competition kind of blind sided them, leading to the plunge in share price, and consequently a reluctance to use the cash now. I could be wrong here, but I heard the words from Noam himself. The speculation is mine, however. I don't think they even LOOK at the short position. What are the better methods?
