I imagine in Shawn's case he was booted, so they removed his name but his "number" is permanently assigned.

In other words, they wiped him off in one place and forgot to clean the slate in the other.....or else it's too much trouble to wipe it off.

It's not real important to me; I just thought it curious that the oldest threads, if they were not posted to after '95, ended up in a Black Hole. I guess if one were to post to that extinct Apple Thread it may "return" to the search function and then foul up anyone trying to get to the correct thread.

A few technogeeks would start mumbling, "I KNOW I posted it here somewhere......"
