Until the TCI deal closes; or the consensus indicates that it won't close, the arbitrageurs will short T using the money to buy TCOMA.

Once this downward pressure is removed from T, I would expect a 10 - 15% pop within a couple days.

FWIW,
Ian.

There are many investments to be made that could put a strain on T. The stock has actually been pretty strong, never faltering in October and only temporarily around Aug31. At 63, you are up 5% since Oct9.
The TCI deal should be good for long run but immediate effects on the stock definitions - splitting into two stocks, removal from the DOW - could make for a buying opportunity in conjunction with a weak market.
Overall they do seem to be playing the game now.
