Don, I didn't get a chance to talk to Robert Harrison although I did see him there. I think they will be having an open house in 2 weeks so maybe I'll get a chance to talk to him then. Yesterday's event was more of a halloween family event. It was pretty busy when I was there just after ten.

I read the Ben & Jerry's article in the Spectator last night. It's about a half page and gives the history of the U.S. B&J and some background on the canadian operation. Both Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were also in town on Friday touring the $10M facility. It is not finished yet and from my own observation looks about a few more weeks before production is up and running(just my guess). Both Ben and Jerry were quoted in the article as saying "this is a wonderful plant.... I wish our plant in Vermont was as well built".
Robert Harrison was also quoted as saying the company will be "sending the product across the country in 6 months".

The article also mentions that the latest 6 month B&J sales in the U.S came in at $100m U.S. Net profit was $2.5m. If we use the 10% canada to U.S. rule, I'm hoping DAD in Canada should be able to sell about $28m of the B&J line which should result in about $500-600k net profit (assuming the same 2.5% net profit margin). DAD will need to keep tight control on their operating costs and also deliver good sales volume on the Cadbury and Weight Watchers lines. Cadbury's will be their second largest product line. Stoney Creek Ice Cream will be the smallest portion of their production. The article also mentions that Cadbury prodcution will start soon and that they currently have a staff of 38 up from 21.

I'd also like too see a prospectus with their current financials and cost structure. That's all the info I can pass along for now. Our local Stoney Creek Newspaper might have some more info. I 'll check the next edition when it comes out.
