Tero,

Again, Look at Korea. Take a rest. my friend. They do not need no Nokia phones. It is always the infrastructure first. China can ban Nokia phones by only accept ERICY or QCOM phones only.

What is phone weight and stand by time got to do with it. It is government's industrial policy vs. free competition that counts. Who needs NOKIA's GSM phones when the whole country only choice is CDMA or TDMA? Open up EU countries infrastructure and phone markets, we will see which companies got crushed. As a Finnish, will you support a CDMA build out in your country to see if CDMA can survive as a niche player in your country's turf?

Size always counts. Country size or company size! That is why QCOM still is fighting for its own stance in this Telcom. market. However, it is doing well so far against ERICY, NOKA, and MOT.

Brian H.

Tero
The proof is in the pudding.

Over 50 vendors have selected CDMA and these are some of the largest and smartest operators in the world. Give them some credit instead of debating for the sake of debating.
Have a good wekend!

RE: Inferior products are always pushed out sooner or later

Hey, you are talking to a country that drinks Bud and Coke, eats Big Macs and KFC, and computes Windows and Word. Say again?

Tero:

"Yankee see, yankee do"? Give me a break!!! I can't believe that statement--I so envy the Finnish ways of....uh....uh....damn--can't think of anything there. What a joke.

The US people care about coverage, call quality, and price. Why? Because this is a free economy. All the standards are here--the consumer can pick what he finds most attractive. The yankees didn't do something so ignorant as mandating one "flavor" of service. I have a choice. The rest of the US has a choice. You have no choice. What's left for you to worry about? Phone size? Standby time? They seem to be an area you focus on. What is happening in this free market? CDMA is "Winnundating" the country. Ma Bell signs up less subs than Sprint--even with those nifty Nokia phones, even by offering service at a loss. Why is that? Why aren't us dumb yanks groveling to get lightweight long lasting Nokia phones to use on out AT&T network? Why do more sign up with Sprint? Have you thought about that?

When enough manufacturers produce CDMA phones, then the consumer may take a look at the factors you mention. As it stands now, no available CDMA phone is any better than any other CDMA phone in regards to size, standby, etc. If you think GSM will sweep the US based on the phone characteristics, dream on. It will never happen. To talk about GSM phones/TDMA phones vs. CDMA phones is a useless exercise.

As for salesmen and waiting lists, what the "yankee do" here is dupe the consumer. PT Barnum could make a mint in Finland it appears.

Tero,

Just felt I needed to point out that a difference of a mere 2 cents a minute on price/minute charges under 10 cents/min is AT LEAST 20%.

I think Tero just insulted us. Have a banana.
