Hi LG, Well I have been playing with scans again and came up with the idea of testing the fundamental strength of the S&P 500 companies. What I did was ask for companies in the S&P 500 whose revenue AND eps increased this quarter compared to the same quarter last year (4 quarters ago). I took this back for the last 5 quarters and here are the results:

Quarter 0(current quarter) compared to same quarter of prior year 235/500=47.0%
Quarter -2(last quarter) compared to same quarter of prior year 269/500=53.8%
Quarter -3 (3 quarters ago) compared to same quarter of prior year 288/500=57.6%
Quarter -4 (4 quarters ago) compared to same quarter of prior year 291/500=58.2%
Quarter -5 (5 quarters ago) compared to same quarter of prior year 294/500=58.2%

Hey, now I know why the market is going up. A stocks value must be inversely proportional to its earnings growth. <g> This theory is supported by the INTERNUTS.

PS Now don't anyone give me grief over doing FUNNYMENTALS. I just wanted to see if I could figure out what ABBY was looking at. <g>
