Two possibilities:

1. That may have been the bid price and traded on a sell not a buy.

2. Your order may have been preceeded by a previously taken order and then would have to wait. Meantime the price might have risen.

That is why I use market orders as I have lost out on many good trades
by trying to skin an extra 1/16 or 1/8th only to have it get awaw.
My latest was I had limit order on CIEN when it was 12... I didnt fill and then it took off and I still dont have it at 17....gil
