Yes, the maximum allowable length is 18 inches for reliable data transfer at high speeds.

When 'The Boss" isn't looking... clear out your refigerator ...shelves and all, drag it into your office and put the new machine right in that baby.... cooling and sound issues no more..
Ok leave one shelf.. for your beers <gg>
Then put the Q500 back in place of the frig.? Call it a slim profile model <g>
