Steve,

Thanks for the exlanation!! Good job, my knowledge is
improving thanks to you.

First of all, especially after what you just said, a slight
correction<G>

>>...you want to have at least a small chunk of COMS...<<

IMO, you want to have as much COMS as possible!!! A HUGE
chunk.<VBG> and make sure that vault is SCALABLE to large
dimensions, because you want to keep adding to it for a long
time.

>>Well (;-) ), since you ask,<<

Steve, you know I don't have to ask, all you have to do
is read my mind!! you know what answers I'm looking for<GG>

..

NOW, for a very SERIOUS QUESTION:

>>then the corebuilder is the perfect choice for building your backbone<<

Isn't this CSCO and LUs job? Are you implying that the
COMS is going to be stealing their business??
The business which is their primary goal in the next few
years????

joe

<<The 9000 currently offers the most total bandwidth in one ip switching unit in the WORLD!. Therefore assuming that COMS can't be used to build a national backbone is a huge mistake. The corebuilder is just as capable as everything else out there and a lot less costly. Now, what does all this mean.>>

Steve, CB9K does pump an awful lot of bandwidth compared to carrier class switches, but it doesn't have billing capabilities. It is currently targeted at the enterprise space.
