Ampex intends to focus on MicroNet's DataDock 7000 product line and a new high-end product line to be introduced in the first quarter of 1999. Ampex also plans to de-emphasize other lower-priced product lines which, in prior years, have accounted for the majority of MicroNet's sales." What is Ampex's obsession with only making high margin high end products? What's wrong with keeping some of those lower margin products? They might get their foot in some doors with these lower priced items and then as that company's needs may change they may upgrade to higher end products. They certainly could use the extra revenues.
