Nice to hear from you Jim, yes I am a new holder. As far as my portfolio goes I have become a "not so long holder" anymore. I am not a day trader but a so so trader. If this makes sense. I have always bought Companies that "I" was sure will be doing good etc..etc.. and I have learned that there are soooo many many things happening out there in the market world that I set myself a target price once it reaches it I analyse it if my gutt tells me to get out I gather what ever I have and get out of it and be happy.
Right now I have POWI, PSEM and XCIT with this line of thinking. Then I still have all my others which are down, sideways on and on. I am trying to get out of some but right now I am chicken to average down. This investing has certainly become a different ball game. I hope all is well with you.

>> ... probably be bought-out by a bigshot who wants the technology (and patents) that POWI has.<<

I am suprised this has not already happended, especially since a chance to buy them on the cheap just occurred, obtaining the rights to their patents would provide an opportunity to generate a stream of future revenue, the acquiring company would obtain a group of very talented design engineers (which could be the most important reason), and the acquisition may be immediately accretive to earnings.

Your scenario seems pretty realistic. I also just saw that POWI is a component of the Red Herring 250 Portfolio, so there is no doubt that it is being watched. Someone may still be planning on acquiring POWI, but possibly waiting to see how well TinySwitch is received, how the case against MOT goes, or both. If all goes well for POWI, most of the risk in acquiring them will have been eliminated, and the benefits in doing so will be much more clearly defined.

POWI doesn't last a year before being acquired, thats my guess (but thats all that it is). What would everyone do if that were to occur, I think that is a question worth consideration? I have not yet had to deal with this situation, so any insight would be appreciated.
