Mike, Aha, You captured the essence of my argument for foreign Closed End Funds and hard assets, including gold, platinum and diamonds. Even silver is looking good with The Sage Hen of Omaha burnt in the metal.

Mike, you ask if the eventual fall of the dollar bodes well for gold and foreign funds. The simple answer is yes but I am not willing to bottom fish foreign mkts because I feel this bubble is a global one and once the U.S. mkt turns down all mkts will suffer even the depressed ones yes a falling dollar will help but i feel we are in for a secular rather than cyclical bear mkt on a global scale. I feel this financial asset inflation must end in financial asset deflation -much of this paper wealth will simply disappear rather than freely flow to other mkts. With respect to gold some goldbugs believe the price of gold is being manipulated down to maintain confidence in fiat money via producer forward selling, gold-carry trade, publicity about Central Bank sales of gold while nary a word about WHO IS BUYING .To state the obvious you can only sell something if you have a buyer!. The bugs make a compelling case. There are many terrific article at gold-eagle.com discussing this issue and more I will post links to some of my favorites later fiendbear.com is another great site.
