Sad day today. I had to help bury my buddies (John # 16) wife of 17 years (only 41 years young) leaving behind 4 kids ages 8 - 13. No one ever thinks this will happen to them - then bam it does. What do you say to em? Go hug your wife and kids tonight. Let them know how much they mean to you. You may one day never have the opportunity to do so. I can only think of WB's post recently about God's plan for us. Oh, so poinient! "I asked God....." I asked God to take away my pride. God said, "No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up." I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, "No. Her spirit is whole, her body was only temporary." I asked God to grant me patience. God said, "No. Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is earned." I asked God to give me happiness. God said, "No. I give you blessings, happiness is up to you." I asked God to spare me pain. God said, "No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me." I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, "No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful." I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, "No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things." I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as God loves me. God said... "Ahhhh.......... Finally you have the idea!" DGIV is nothing compared to our families. #16 owns boatloads of DGIV stock. I can assure you, it is the last thing on his mind today. Please, everyone say a prayer for John and his four kids. They got a real long "row to hoe". Say a prayer for me that I would find the words to comfort him and support him in this tragic time of his life. I work with him everyday so I am feeling a great sense of responsibility in his emotional recovery as best as I can provide. God will help me with the rest.
