Interesting analysis of analysts. I learned the same lesson through experience and at a cost. I use analysts recommendations as a very minimal support of my buy/sell decision however when buying a stock I would rather see more hold or buy recommendations than strong buy recommendations. If the majority of analysts are rating a stock as a strong buy the next rating can only be worse (unless a strong buy rating can be maintained forever) and thereby cause downward pressure on the price.
