If you are hunting for takeovers, check out PEDE and SIB. I live in close proximity to SIB, and have had discussions with management. They would like to remain independent, but are not adverse to an offer from a larger bank, as they can't grow too much on their own. (My opinion, of course. They are limited in what they can tell me, but they were friendly). PEDE is a rumor I heard about from a fellow investor, who has a knack for finding some of these out, although his timing isn't the best!!
