To all:
Does Waterhouse have a non-graphical site? The site seems slow (when working) compared to Schwab.
Thanks

Dave,
Thanks for the heads-up on reconversions. I'm one of the unlucky
ones who has IRA losses this year. Anyway, I called today and it
looks like a letter with the relevant account numbers is all that's
required to reconvert back to the regular IRA. It does look like
you need to start the Roth conversion over from scratch. I got
slightly mixed information on this: the NY office implied that it
could all be taken care of with the letter, which should go to the
branch office. The branch office gave me the two step process.

I'll let you know what the turnaround time is like. It does bug me
a little that there could be a period of days when I'll be without
the conversion account. What if my holdings go through the roof
then?! Guess that would be good in its own way...

Cheers,
William

Dave,

I was told by my local office that I would have to write a letter to re-convert. The de-conversion would then take several days. I could then re-convert by writing another letter. That, too, would take several days. Since I only had to deal with a few hundred dollars of tax liability because I had converted from a recently-opened IRA funded with non-deductible contributions, I did not bother to do it.
