Zeev, sorry but it seems that you do not get the point!!

Aside all this LTCM may not be a publicly traded company but the portfolio was and full of it at a staggering tune of over $100 billion.

The only institution hurt would be those that encouraged and dealt with LTCM - and so what, they violated the law!!! that was supposed to be their punishment.

Would suggest to study the laws related to this case before posting more unrelated conclusion.

Crimnal conduct is evidenced in those dealing as defined by US Criminal code, if what is know in public is correct.

BTW what you call timing can also interpreted as manipulation and regardless in which direction the market moved it is criminal PERIOD.
