Dwight,

All of the forgoing suggests a truly cynical approach to getting new drugs to the market. First, get them registered as pesticides with the EPA. Then, sell them through farmer COOPS, hardware stores, and KMART.
If the FDA complains, tell them they are pesticides and they'll have to take the matter up with the EPA.

Certainly one could argue all antibiotics are in fact pesticides. Well, aren't bacteria pests?

Can you see it? Someone walks up to a pimple faced clerk in Wal Mart, "Can you tell me where I can find ISIS 2302?"

"Yes Maam. Aisle 13, right next to the Weed Be Gone."

If anyone complains, the response will be, "Hey these are pesticides. They're supposed to be toxic."

I just can't see any holes in this reasoning.
