cb, i concur. total govt control isn't a good answer. i'm underwhelmed with govt "service," if i can be so bold to use those two words together. the only complicating factor is that health is involved.

how much are going to pay a doctor when in the emergency room? anything he/she asks. not sure that is something i could back 100%. if there weren't controls on the supply (not necessarily quality and it is interesting that supply is the main focus ;-) then i might be able to swallow it a little better.

if the doctors made outrageous amounts of money then more people would get in the business and prices would drop. if there are artificial limits on supply then there has to be some control on the back side, imho. not sure what that is, though. tough issue.
