I just received the Atapa Annual Report. It shows one of the drill holes from Queenston/Franco-Nevada exploration on the Doherty-Cooper (Atapa) property line. From the map, a total of 11 holes were drilled directly north of the DC property which intersected a new style of gold mineralization (I hope its not alluvial gold -- #@$%@# Bre-x ;). The report indicates Atapa will be starting a drill program to complement the information from Queenston.

Whether the above is the cause of the stock rise, I don't know. The report also hints at investment from a major mining company. My discussions last year with the president of Atapa indicated that Atapa wanted to go it alone and develop its mining interests. I do know that the company management is closely linked to Teck.
