AMZN 3rd Qtr Margins were pitiful at best. Does anyone remember that one of the many riduculous arguments of the bulls (in favor of its nosebleed stock price)was that Amazon's gross margins would increase as the bookseller acquired more inventory? Well, what happened?

If I remember correctly, the June quarter had gross margins around 22.6 per cent, the same as they were during this September quarterly report. Moreover, why couldn't the company pull off any better than last quarter's (.34) per share? It sounds like additional sales produced diminishing returns.

In my estimation, the company is spending lavishly and recklessly in order to boost sales.
