True, there are conflicts in individual races. Interesting though, the Demos seem willing to accept that this election is a referendum on the impeachment but not the Republicans. I believe that the Republicans are not willing to accept the risk of defining in advance what the vote will mean. The consequences of the vote and what it may portend for them in the future may be better left unexamined. This is even though traditionally in election off years the party that doesn't have the Presidency loses big and the Republicans should win.

I also agree that the vote may very well be interpreted as inconclusive. Nobody knows now who is going to win but one thing is certain, there will be plenty of spin on the results. I had hoped to get agreement from them on what the vote is about, but no luck.
