Japan PC Sales Decline

Japan's overall shipments of personal computers fell 1% to 1.95 million
units in the July-September quarter, the Japan Electronic Industry
Development Association said Monday. Domestic shipments increased by
9% to 1.8 million units, posting the first rise in five quarters. Exports
dropped by 52%, compared with year-ago levels, to 152,000 units. The
value of overall shipments fell 6% to 643.1 billion yen ($5.53 billion) from
prior-year levels during the period, the association said.

it may not be only that, but also that they think they can stop some of the pricing erosion by only jumping halfway. wonder if it will work.
