LT,
I stand on the position I posted about 2 weeks ago in which I stated that it will take an "event" to bring this market to reality. I agree with your thinking...your just seeing everything the way it is...without the irrational optimism...Unfortunately, Wall Street is looking at the positive side of any/all arguments. Once we have an event that blatantly shows the absurdity of not grasping the financial impacts we are dealing with...the street will react just as strongly to the downside.

Now the key question is...what will the "event" be? And when will it come?

The bullishness...from a 1/4pt rate cut...and earnings meeting lowered expectations...is without question...plain scarry. If we were dealing with a bubble before...what in heavens name do you call this?

What started the sell-off in 1987? Wasn't it the announcement that a merger involving UAL had been called off? Just an excuse for what was about to happen..back then. What will it be this time?
