ATHM right now is growing, but to match AOL it will take time. People are using Instant Message or Private room chats in AOL to talk with their folks or friends who are far away. It saves them a lot of money instead of using the regular phone. People also have hooked up with some online buddies whom they would rather be with for now until another alternate comes up.. These online people and families will for sure immigrate to another online if better alternative and price comes along The more the number of homes hooks up to ATHM will increase its growth. Meanwhile AOL will continue to dominate.

As for ICQ, it is free, but as GATES said " have the people of China pirate the Windows, have them hooked with Windows, and when law toughens the people will be hooked with Window and will buy them." He is looking to the future here. This i say the same to AOL IMO. "Hook the em and charge em". Remember we used to get free ATM withdrawals anywhere we use to see a machine. They got us hooked. When was the last time you used a teller? And aren't you willing to pay .50 at a 7/11 or 2.50 at an ATM near ur home?

Hope ATHM will move fast.
