My guess is that Greenspan will continue to lower rates to avoid the risk of a panic.

Greenspan won't inject again until the higher beta members of the momo chains begin to dive again. All of the high fliers have all been doing simply grand this past week... the need just isn't there yet.

Remember, timing is everything. The dollar has to deflate first to justify further injection. Anything else, and you are playing to dangerously aggressively with the variables that govern the system.

Also, the rate cutting measures require coordination with foreign governments to make sure the capital doesn't run to markets where its not needed.

Think frog boiling... slow... one degree at a time. You mustn't scare the frog lest it jump out of the water. :)

MHO,

-- Eric

(of course I could be wrong. I'd sure as all hell would rather be long on small caps than short on high betazoids if Greenspan drops the rate again. One way you get rich quick... the other way, you could get a quick margin call!).
