FWIW, MediaOne, owned by U.S. West, has already launched residential and business local telephone service in Atlanta, Culver City, CA, Jacksonville & Pompano Beach FL, and Boston MA. Perhaps more importantly from a T/TCI perspective, they are trialing long distance service in Culver City. This is a giant can of worms that the FCC is considering opening.
