Mining Production Rises 2.7% - Bolivia November 2, 1998 Mining production in Bolivia rose 2.7% in the first half of 1998, compared to full-year falls of 0.5% in 1997 and 7.9% in 1996. Bolivia's medium size mining sector outperformed both the state owned mining company Comibol and small-scale mines in the first half of 1998. Medium-sized mines increased production by 10.8%, whereas in the first half of 1998 Comibol production was down 21.6% from 1997. Small-scale mines registered a 4% decrease in productivity, a lesser fall than in previous years. Source: El Diario, Bolivia
