Post from Quality Yahoo Msg Board:"IF THEY CAN SURVIVE THIS Q"

Can Quality turnaround?

I sure don't know. I live nearly 2k miles from Quality. I can't do a parking lot count.
The numbers for previous quarters certainly look bad. Alot of stock holders are angry
and distressed! I have read some stock holders ragging on Quality not making Quality
parts. Yet when I read their Yahoo ID's - it doesn't mention their occupations. I can't
speak to their lan chips but I have used their 3.3v logic family, FCT, and bus switches.
I have seen nothing wrong with them. Do I believe the company is mismanaged? Yes!
Do I believe that sales have been impacted by bad decisions? Yes. Do I believe they
have gotten a double whammy due to the Asian Flu? You bet. Will they turn around? I
don't know. I do agree with Kopplecork though? I think if they survive this quarter - it
would be wise not to believe they will go bankrupt. Even bad management can't
destroy a company with a product used in laptops. I think a turnaround in tech has
started and that Quality will prosper again - IF THIS QUARTER DOES NOT
BANKRUPT THEM! Anyway, I have a couple thousand shares just to watch and see.
When I loose I don't blame the company. When I win I take the money to the bank.
Screaming foul and blaming individuals in management was part of doing your
homework before buying. This stock was never for widows and orphans. It is not now.
Even if they survive and prosper - it is still not for them. For my part. I hope they
survive, and await the numbers for the quarter. If not, I take a tax loss against profits
from other stocks.

A informative opinion from Dan McCraine (Cypress Semi CFO) on the IDTI merger with Quality:

3) NOTE: The following IDTI/QSI comments are mine alone, and are not necessarily reflective of Cypress' beliefs on this subject. IDTI has the leadership position in FCT. They invented it, and they have in excess of 60% market share. QSI and Pericom (and Cypress) are all tiny competitors in this area. However, even tiny competitors can wreak havoc relative to pricing.
Therefore, IDTI was smart to remove a competitor from the market, I believe. In addition, they get some designs from QSI on 'Quick Switch' products. Add to all this the fact that they were able to take QSI out at a price that is much less than .75 x sales....and I think they did ok. Of course,I think they're going to have to do some rapid consolidating in order to avoid P/L losses...but I'm sure they're up to it. As for the benefit to QSI, I'm not sure I can comment. I haven't studied their current situation very well.
