Steve, I cannot estimate whether Alhambra is worth it's price, they didn't offer it in Granadas real-estate offices.

Honest, it's hard to feel the soul of this building among thousends of tourists. For expert-validations I would recommend a good guide - for my personal impression: it's not worth to stay a 8-hour-flight just for visiting the "Alhambra".

Take at least 4 weeks, for every city at least 2 days (and 1 night...), don't miss the existing, actual life in Spain - it's a long time ago that Allah and the Inquisition were here. A few points of historical interest: Madrid, Sevilla (!), Toledo, Granada, Cordoba - but also the "valle of caidos", kind of Franco-memorial.

Don't miss the landscape of the Canarias and Mallorca, impressing cities like Barcelona or the vines of Andalucia. Spain is more than just a few old buildings. It's an important part of the living Europe - that's "more than words can say" - and for sure for every open mind a great experience.

Hope I could help you - and welcome to Europe!

Jury

PS: don't forget eating & drinking the European way: tasty!
