Mark, thank you for the detailed response. A couple of questions: 1. Does the wait at ISLD happen only with market orders or with limits and stop limits as well? 2. How long will they let it sit there? Is there a time frame (I thought it was 1 minute). 3. Even though this practice is likely to encourage front running, there are benefits right (namely, you get ISLD representation and might get a better price)?

Scott

as i understood it - datek claims they go immediately to the market if no match is found on isld

wouldnt surprise me though as i've seen ghost orders preceding my orders on some slow moving stocks - the order looks like mine and is within a second or so of mine but isnt mine

sometimes i miss a sell or buy because of these ghost orders

wouldnt suprise me any if datek is frontrunning its customer's orders

they dont seem to give a damn about anything else we pt out

btw - datek rep claimed all is fine today - no problems - yeah right
